Canon IXUS 140 Quick Review. The Canon IXUS 140 offers a 8x optical zoom lens with a 28mm wide-angle, running to 224mm at the far end (in 35mm terms). The lens is stabilised to help keep those long shots steady. The Canon IXUS 140 will be available from late-February.
Canon IXUS 140 Features:
- 16-megapixel sensor at the heart of the camera, backed by the older DIGIC 4 processor
- 3-inch LCD display, rounding off a camera that's compact and good looking, and available in grey, silver, red or pink
- 8x Optical Zoom 28-224mm Wide-Angle Lens
- Built-In Wi-Fi and CameraWindow App,connectivity with an iPhone and Android app, meaning you can shoot and share your pictures instantly
- 720p HD Video and Dedicated Movie Button
- Six Mode Intelligent Image Stabilization, Smart AUTO with 32 Predefined Scenes

Standing out is the 16 MP CCD sensor and the ISO range of 100 to 6400. WiFi and video capabilities are a bonus, although these features are increasingly common and thus expected among point-and-shoots. The lens’s max aperture is a bit of a snooze at f/3.2, but the 8x optical zoom is nice in.
