Review Canon EF 28 f/2.8 IS

Review Canon EF 28mm f/2.8.Canon EF 28 f/2.8 IS lens is both lightweight and light on your wallet. Measuring 2.6 x 1.7 "(66 x 43mm) long and weighs 6.6 ounces (186g), the lens may be eligible for the category of small lenses.

The quality build of this lens is quite decent with good quality plastic. The inside of the tube lens extends slightly when focusing towards close range but the front element does not rotate - using a polarizer because it's no problem. Operating the focus ring is not all that impressive - typical for many of the Canon lens feels a little itching. Thanks to a small number of elements is very fast AF despite conventional micro motor.

Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 lens wide open in the middle with a sharp little noticeable improvement when stopped down. Wide angle showed tenderness in the body even FOVCF 1.6 for a plane curve sharp focus. Markedly improved the sharpness of corners by f / 4. Light fall-off is seen in the corners when shot wide open even on a 1.6x body FOVCF. Full-frame camera body users will still see some shading angle at f / 8.

The Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 lens is probably not the most attractive in the market but still interesting nonetheless. It is very affordable in combination with the optical performance is quite impressive (except CA) and pretty decent mechanic. However, tight enough to face competition from the Sigma AF 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM is a little better but worse in the middle of the border. Canon is much cheaper though.
