Canon EOS 8D predictions specification

Canon EOS 8D predictions specification. Latest rumors said that the Canon EOS 8D will probably be released in 2011 as the replacement of the Canon EOS 7D. While many 8D features will be the update of the Nikon D700. To learn more about the Canon EOS 8D, here we have comparison of the Canon EOS 8D, 7D and the Nikon D700 in terms of two aspects for your reference.

Brand new AF system with 45 AF-points

First of all the AF system can be improved. Currently the 7D has 19 cross-type AF points. IN comparison, the Nikon D700 has 51 AF-point AF with 3D Focus tracking, the Nikon D700 brings 39-point AF. So I think that the Canon 8D will include a brand new AF system with more AF points in order for at least stand head-to-head with the competition.

ISO increased

The Canon 7D features a maximum native ISO of 6400 (12,800 with boost). I guess that the new Canon EOS 8D will go up to ISO 12,800 without boost, but will have a 25,600 as an optional setting in boost mode. In comparison, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II (full frame) has a native ISO 12,800 with 25,600 in boost. That leads me to think that we will also see a brand new sensor, that can achieve high quality (usable) images at high ISO settings.
